What is a pod?

A pod drive is an electric propulsion system integrated into a unit submerged beneath the hull of a boat. The propeller, directly coupled to the motor shaft, is permanently submerged . The shorter drive shaft between the motor and the propeller improves energy efficiency . This type of design reduces the size of the circuit, which improves reliability, reduces maintenance, and therefore the number of breakdowns.

Unlike inboard thermal engines, the pod, by virtue of its submerged installation, reduces vibrations and noise from the boat.

The propulsion system consists of five main elements:

• The engine block and its propeller , connected to the power box
• The power box , which contains the electronic motor control boards and provides the connection between the motor, the control screen and the battery
• The control screen
• The throttle grip
• The compact and portable cassette battery pack
