They will depart from Marseille on September 21, 2025, to reach Guadeloupe… by swimming. 3,800 km of effort, 2 world records targeted, 1 mission: to bring the ocean into schools.
An extraordinary challenge, an ethical mission.
In September 2025, Chloé and Matthieu will leave Marseille aboard the Papagayo catamaran, sailing to Cape Verde before beginning the Atlantic swimming relay towards Guadeloupe — 3,800 km swimming over three months, the longest relay in the world. Three months of swimming relays, a supportive crew, and above all, one goal: to involve 50,000 children and their teachers in this story, thanks to a free and interactive educational program designed for cycle 3 students.
Each week, registered participants will receive a thematic sheet accompanied by videos, podcasts, and challenges to be carried out in class, to explore topics such as water, pollution, ocean currents, and biodiversity. An explanatory sheet accompanies each session to guide teachers. A concrete, fun, and accessible way to approach ecology and ocean issues with students. More than 43,000 students have already registered for the start of the school year!
Why it means so much to us.
Chloé and Matthieu are not solitary adventurers: they are relationship builders. Their previous actions — descending the Seine, the Marseille-Barcelona relay, the challenge on Lake Titicaca — were already invitations for us to feel, even if for a short time, the majesty of the ocean and the fragility of our relationship with it.
Aboard Papagayo, it’s more than just a crew; it’s a true human and technological laboratory. Water management via a desalinator, daily rations, plant-based and organic food prepared by a Michelin-starred chef — Nadia Sammut —, low-tech energy (solar oven, solar generator engine): everything is designed to combine autonomy and respect for the environment. And for a brand like TEMO, which aims to eliminate CO₂ emissions, hydrocarbon leak risks, and noise pollution, while promoting French industrial savoir-faire; this resonates with us!

TEMO, official supplier of Swim for Change.
So TEMO proudly embarks on the adventure. As the official supplier of Swim for Change, the crew has chosen to equip the catamaran's tender with two TEMO·1000 electric motors and five batteries, ensuring the silent, clean, and reliable extension of this human promise: navigating differently, with respect, with consciousness. For TEMO, this partnership perfectly embodies our values: innovating to better preserve, making nautical mobility more respectful and accessible, and supporting those who dare to push limits for the planet.
Because Swim for Change is not just a sporting performance. It is a message: one of ecology, mutual aid, and resilience. A reminder that the ocean, immense and fragile, deserves all our attention. With each tender outing, with each maneuver, the TEMO·1000 will show that another way of navigating is possible.
We will follow this expedition step by step, or rather crawl by crawl, to share the behind-the-scenes of this extraordinary crossing with our community.
