TEMO closes a pre-sales campaign at €295,000 and delivers its first electric motors for boats.
First unveiled in October 2019 at the Mille Sabords boat show and voted best product of the year last December, the TEMO·450 electric motor continues to gain popularity. The Nantes-based startup has just completed a record-breaking pre-sale campaign as the first deliveries approach.
After 10 months of intensive work on the manufacturing of the portable electric propulsion unit, the first TEMO units have rolled off the production line at the Carquefou factory in Loire-Atlantique. This is a remarkable industrial achievement considering the supply chain complications caused by COVID-19 and the two-month lockdown.
The Nantes-based startup has succeeded in its mission. While simultaneously industrializing its electric motor, it has just concluded a record-breaking pre-sale campaign with nearly 300 units reserved even before the first delivery – representing a turnover of €295,000. This highly successful launch in the boating world positions TEMO as a serious contender in the highly competitive boat motor market. In just a few months, the startup has captured 11% of the small outboard motor market.*
The first electric outboard motor made in France stands out thanks to a sleek design, an unsurpassed power-to-weight ratio and an hour's autonomy, perfectly suited to its use, intended for boat tenders and light craft.
The first deliveries are underway.
Deliveries to the first fifty customers are underway and should continue throughout September. This is excellent news for boaters and fishermen, who have been eagerly awaiting their vessels.

For the next 230 units already reserved, as well as all new orders which are accelerating, delivery will take place in December 2020. Four months are needed to increase production capacity.
A distribution network covering the entire coastline.
The end of the year will also mark a new commercial milestone for TEMO, as the engine will be available in around thirty specialist stores from December 2020 .

With a fair and undiscounted selling price of €1450 including VAT, French manufacturing and an additional accessory set, the TEMO·450 electric motor naturally finds its place in the market for small power outboard motors and should quickly become established on all bodies of water, in France and abroad.
