The TEMO·450 is an electric outboard motor for dinghies and dinghies. Since our electric motor is waterproof (within its IP67 rating), we're often asked if it floats. While the TEMO·450 doesn't float on its own, we've come up with a few ideas to help it. These include accessories.
The oarlock interface for TEMO·450.
To prevent your electric motor from sinking, the oarlock interface is your best ally.
| Once attached to the rear panel of your dinghy , the interface will stay firmly in place. This allows you to easily secure your electric dinghy motor with the nut at the end of the interface. When your TEMO·450 is secured with the nut, you can release it without worry. It will remain upright in the water, perfectly safe and sound, awaiting your return! | ![]() |
Don't want to drill into your transom? Opt for the removable oarlock interface , available as an accessory!
The buoyancy kit for TEMO·450.
Next, we developed an accessory specifically for this problem: the buoyancy kit . As its name suggests, it makes the electric sculling oar float . It comes in the form of a "sock" that slips over the blue tube. It installs in seconds and gives you complete peace of mind!
| It allows our electric motor to float vertically, resting against the clamp. This keeps the handle out of the water, making it easy to grab. Plus, the accessory won't interfere with your comfort while sailing or your grip, and it's Made in France! It even protects the anodized finish on your blue tube and fits neatly into the carrying bag – pretty neat, right? | ![]() |
