What is a pod?A pod is a compact and lightweight electric propulsion system, fixed under your boat's hull, combining power, maneuverability, and discretion. An outpod, on the other hand, is a retractable electric motor mounted on the exterior of the boat, usually on your transom, rudder, or outer planking. Why go electric with a pod?

Electric propulsion relies on a battery bank, a true energy reservoir. Electricity is produced by a generator (charger, generator set, wind turbine, or solar), then converted by a controller before being transmitted to the pod motor. The propeller, permanently submerged, foldable or fixed, optimizes thrust and drag.
Moreover, the presence of a shorter drive shaft between the motor and the propeller improves energy efficiency. This type of design reduces the circuit size, which improves reliability, decreases maintenance, and thus the number of breakdowns.
Navigation towards the future.

For example, the city of Amsterdam has introduced restrictions for diesel-powered boats in its canals. The Memorandum on Waterways in Amsterdam plans to only allow emission-free boats in the city center from 2025 and throughout the Amsterdam inland waterways area from 2030.
