The oarlock supplied with the TEMO·450 is one of the reasons why our electric motor is so easy to handle and install. Some of you may want to change the oarlock cord for added comfort. Today, we'll show you how to quickly and easily change the cord on the nut.
Remove the two screws.
To begin, remove the two oarlock screws located at the front and rear. There is only one on each side, located in diagonal to each other.
Dismantle the oarlock.
Next, disassemble the oarlock by removing the cylindrical part in the middle.
To do this, place the oarlock in front of you so that you can see the letters "GT" on the top to your left. Then push the cylinder on its right end towards the left to release it. Without the two screws and the string, the oarlock consists of four parts, as shown in the photo below:
Change the string.
Choose the desired length of string. Then, thread it through the holes located at the base of the axle. Tie a simple figure-eight knot or a loop at the end of the string at the the lower end (bottom hole). This will prevent it from coming off the axle. Repeat the process with the nut, passing the string through from the top.
Raise the oarlock.
Once again, position the oarlock bracket so that the letters "GT" are facing you, on your left. Insert the axle in the middle, placing the hole with the string also on your left. Then, insert the cylindrical section from left to right. Be careful to insert the end with the larger hole first , while ensuring it passes through the axle. Finally, all you have to do is tighten the screws. We recommend using the existing holes on the cylindrical section, aligning them correctly with those on the mounting bracket.
