Our TEMO·450 model is primarily designed for dinghies and small boats. But what about kayaks and canoes? Check out TEMO's tips and tricks on the subject.

Advantages of the TEMO electric motor.

To begin with, yes, it is possible to use TEMO·450 with a canoe or kayak, in either fresh or salt water. Our electric scull will give you around 1 hour of run time and offers you a 30-cm draw with a propeller protected by a protective nozzle. You can also use it as a backup motor just to give you a little help if you're tired! Its tubular shape extends between 1.3 m and 1.7 m, which will allow you to adjust it to the correct size, and the ambidextrous handle can be adapted for maximum comfort. In addition, its magnetic key circuit breaker lets you navigate safely.

Positioning on the kayak.

Initially, it is best to use our electric outboard with an oar or rudder. The motor should be placed on your side of the boat. It is therefore easier to change course with a rudder. However, you can also use an oar or paddle on the other side to steer.

Fixing.

Our electric motor for small boats comes with an interface for the mounting bracket. It is usually attached to the rear of the back panel. You can attach it to the side, while avoiding drilling into a surface that has a sealing function. For those of you who are good at DIY, you could even make a mounting bracket yourself.

Finally, if you have an inflatable boat, it is even possible to attach our electric outboard using an adhesive mount.

In conclusion, you can use the TEMO electric scull for your kayak or canoe, but this is not its primary design function.
