Our TEMO·450 model is primarily designed for tenders and small boats. But what about kayaks and canoes?
Find all TEMO tips and advice on the subject.

Advantages of the TEMO·450 electric motor.

To begin with, yes, it is possible to use TEMO·450 with a canoe or kayak, in both fresh and salt water .

Our electric sculling oar will allow you to cruise for about an hour and offers a 30cm draft thanks to its propeller protected by a nozzle. You can also use it as an auxiliary motor to give you a little boost if you're feeling tired! Its adjustable tubular shape, ranging from 1.30m to 1.70m, allows you to customize its size, and its ambidextrous handle ensures maximum comfort. Furthermore, its magnetic key with a kill switch allows you to navigate safely.

How do I position my electric motor on my boat?

Initially, it's best to use our electric outboard motor with an oar or a rudder . The motor will need to be positioned on the side of your boat, making it easier to change course with a rudder. However, you can also use an oar or paddle on the other side for steering.

How do I attach my motor to my boat?

Our electric motor for small boats comes with an oarlock interface .

Normally, this fitting attaches to the rear of the dinghy's transom. You can attach it to the side , taking care not to drill into any surface designed for waterproofing.

For those of you who are handy, you can even make your own mounting bracket. Check out this user video from Lake Geneva. And if you have an inflatable boat, you can even attach our electric outboard motor using an adhesive oarlock interface!

In conclusion, you can use the TEMO·450 electric sculling oar for your kayak or canoe, but that is not its primary use.
